Many, many months ago, I wrote about how important it is for freelancers to keep our data safe… and that after much research, I decided to use Jungle Disk for automatic file backups and archiving.
Fast forward to today. I have since added another main computer and my Jungle Disk storage costs have gone sky high. Recently, I started looking around for another, more affordable alternative and this time I discovered Backblaze*.
Backblaze is a set-it-and-forget-it type of computer backup service for only $5 per computer per month (it costs less if you pay for a whole year upfront). There are many similar services out there, but what convinced me to go with Backblaze is it’s ability to also back up files in an external hard drive.
This eliminates my need for cloud archiving, because I can save files in an external drive instead of a cloud archive, and be assured that they’re being backed up as well.
If you want to check out Backblaze, you can do so here.
