The Savvy Freelancing Webinars are back!
Our next cost-free, pitch-free webinar will be on Wednesday, May 5th 2010, at 8 pm EST.
Blogging for Freelancers
Our topic will be “Blogging for Freelancers,” and we’ll be taking up:
- top reasons why freelancers should blog
- the advantages and disadvantages of blogging
- common mistakes freelancers make with their blog
- the types of blog posts that can help you attract clients
- how to get started blogging, or take your current blog to the next level
There’s no cost to join the webinar, but you need to register to get access to the live webinar, as well as to the webinar handouts, recordings and slides. Type your name and email address below to register:
Please post your biggest questions about blogging in the comments below.
My webinar partner, Sharon McMillan, and I will do our best to answer your questions during the webinar.
See you there!
PS: The Savvy Freelancing webinars are pure content. We’re not trying to promote any products or services — even our own. Foolish? Maybe. Sharon and I just want more freelancers to reach their goals and keep having fun along the way. Do join us!
My (still brand new) blog is pretty unrelated to my freelancing activities, except that it features my artwork sometimes. I guess my main question is about how you can merge a “hire me” message into an ongoing blog when most of the readership may not be interested in that.
.-= Willie Hewes´s last blog ..OMG! I’m on the internet TV! =-.
Thanks for posting your question, Willie! And how awesome to see you here 🙂
We’ll definitely take this up during the webinar. I started out like this as well, with a blog that talked about personal stuff, like taking the kids to the library to see live chincillas, or nearly burning my house down because I was too lazy to get a pot holder. So realize that there’s hope!
Lexi
I’d like to see something addressed on how to make time for yourself without feeling guilty 🙂
.-= Sherice´s last blog ..Schedule Facebook Posts, Keep Up with Social Networks using Sendible =-.
Hi Sherice, Thank you for posting your question here. We’ll try to discuss it at the webinar 🙂
I am a Spanish to English translator living in Spain. I just created the blog noted above and am interested for advice for managing it and making it interesting for potential clients.
Thanks for your ongoing newsletters and the webinar invitation.
Best regards,

Hi Jenni, thank you very much for posting your concerns here. That’s exactly the content we’ll be tackling at the webinar. See you there!
Hi Lexi,
I wonder if it’d be possible to explore promotional tactics that bring clients to your blog. Obviously, writing and commenting on blogs will have limited effectiveness. How do you get your messages in front of the clients you want to reach, including offline?
Looking forward to it!
.-= Kathleen O’Connor´s last blog ..2 Guests Posts in 1 Day! =-.
Sure, Kathleen! We’ll take up blog promotion as long as time permits. See ya!

Lexi and Sharon, this was my first seminar and I could attend when it was close to the end. Also I had some problems with Firefox on a Mac (the sound got cut off all the time and I had to relogin) But it was GREAT!!!! THANK YOU GUYS!!!!
Elvis, it was great having you at the webinar! Even though you arrived towards the end, we sure appreciated your lively participation and contribution to the discussion.
I, too, learned last night that Firefox (on a Mac too) does not play well with DimDim. I couldn’t hear Sharon at all! Argh!!!
Sharon and I hope to bring you a much smoother, problem-free webinar next time 🙂
